My 71 soft top weatherstripping is currently held in place with button head bolts and hex nuts with captured smooth or serrated washers. I don't see any evidence of a rectangular washer which would fit into the pockets molded into the weatherstrip. Where rectangular washers used in 71, in later models, or are they an aftermarket item ? Thanks in advance for your assistance.

I thought that the square washers were used for the weatherstrip for 68-75 hardtops. However, it's very possible that they were also used for the weatherstrips on convertible tops.In Appreciation of John Hinckley -
