Does anyone know if/when head rest ever became standard equipment (obviously before the 70 and up bananna seats)so that they wouldn't be listed as an option on the window sticker and or tank sticker?

Re: Head Rest Seats
All 69's had headrests. It was an option in 1968. I think that it was a mandatory option from the start of 69 production up until about January, 1969. It seems that I also remember that in January, 1969, headrests became "standard equipment, so I would guess that around that point, it would not show up on the sticker/tank sheet. If my recollections are incorrect, I'm sure I'll be corrected!! Hope this helps. Chuck1963 Corvette Conv. 327/360 NCRS Top Flight

Actually, I believe that the headrests were basically included with the car without anyone having to order them throughout the 1969 model year.
It so happens that a friend of mine is also the original owner of his 1969 Corvette. In fact, both of our cars are Riverside Gold and both have "resided" in the same city since they were first delivered---the same city that he and I both still live in. His car is an L-46 coupe and mine a base convertible. His is a fairly early build car and mine is a late build 69.
His car was originally ordered on September 17, 1968, built in October and delivered to him in November, 1968. In any event, it so happens that I have a copy of the original dealer order form for his car----the one with the "check boxes" for the options that the dealer completed and sent to the zone office. This sheet has absolutely no "check box" for the suppossed "A82" option. Nowhere on the form is the "A82" option or headrest seats even mentioned. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top
