58/62 Hood Release

On an original hood release was the T handle mounted to the sliding shaft with a pin or rivet, or was it held onto the shaft with some sort of adhesive or epoxy.????

The T Handle was pinned to the shaft.

I must respectfully disagree with Mark. I believe that the handle for the hood release was press fit. I checked on 3 62's in the barn, and none have any evidence of a pin. The shaft of the release mechanism has an inverted u-shaped cutout the length of the shaft--that, along with the construc tion of the handle itself, allowed it to be oriented only one way.
