    Voltage reg part #

Found a voltage regulator in the garage the numbers on it are 1119, 511 and a date code of 8F. Also with it was a valve cover oil cap with AC Fe2 the middle rivet is in the shape of a shamrock(4 leaf) can any one tell me what these parts are off...........................Joe

The oil cap is correct for a late 70's Corvette 350.

Joe, I had a voltage regulator like that on my flea market table for years and a ton of Corvette guys looked at it. Finally some one bought it cheap. I said what is it for. He said Pontiac. Don't know if that's true or not. John D.

Yep, the '511 is for Pontiac (mirrored the '512 used for about 3/4-year on '63 alternator equiped Chevy's). It's wired differently and will NOT substitute for a Chevy '512 or '515 V-Reg...

              Joe-----

I think you'll find that the oil cap is "FC-2" and not "Fe2". AC oil cap FC-2 has VERY wide applicability over a period of MANY years. The configuration of this cap also changed a bit over the years, so I can't say from your description what period it is from. These were used on Chevrolet 6 cylinder engines from the 50's as well as 80's V-8s. The FC-2 was an oil cap of internal GM manufacture. Many other GM oil caps, including some which were sold in SERVICE to replace the FC-2 and others that were used in PRODUCTION, were of Stant manufacture.
