N11 Off road exhaust advice - pls.

I have read every archive folks and learned allot but here goes another question on this topic....

I have some midas replacement set-up on my 66 427 L-36 that sounds like a sewing machine - very quiet. My car came according to my GM published docs with N11 off road exhaust. I called ALLEN's yesterday and spoke with Jim S, very helpful people. They have a OEM -5 baffle unit, a off-road 2 baffle unit, and now a 0 or no baffle unit. I was leading towards the off-road 2 baffle system as nothing it appears with replicate the true GM N11 mufflers. Jim says they are still pretty tame/quiet even on a hydraulic lifter BB car, and was encouraging me to go with the No baffle unit.

I want the car to sound like a BB 60's corvette, and I know it isn't a 425hp car with the solid lifter chatter but then again I do not want a Harley Davidson obnoxious sound.

Does anyone out there have the Allens 2 baffle and the 0 baffle sytem and can you give me your thoughts or should I be checking out Corvette Centrals units or Corvette mufflers by ****CO. Any advice with these units?? Apreciate the help.....

I believe that CC's system is actually made by Allens. I am not familiar with the other vendor

I've been to CC's factory and seen them make their own.

Keith, I have purchased two sets of the off-road setup from ****CO (formerly Zeirdens) over the last 20 years and was very pleased. They were good quality and I was happy with their sound. Good luck. Jim Weeks - Member #2978
