Choke Tube Exhaust Manifold C1

Installing a new choke tube in exhaust manifold.
My question is how far out of the top of exhaust manifold
should it be?
This is on a 2x4 car.

Before it turns, you mean?

Check out Nolan Adams book about the 58-60 Corvettes. Page 123 shows a tube on a 2x4 1960 270 HP. In that photo, it looks like it "turns north" rather quickly. Hope this helps.

John: I think you may be referring to only the tube inside the exhaust manifold. When I replaced mine on my 2x4 '57, I made it flush with the top of the manifold. The heat tube that goes up to the choke fits over this tube. If this is not correct, I'm sure someone more knowlegable will respond.
