    1967 Carpet install Convertible

Is there a specific order to put in the new carpet pieces I assume fronts, rear sides, package tray, then rear cargo area.

    Thanks,
    Tom McCabe

Does anyone have any pics of the Jute/rubber underlayment installed, I didn't have any originally and no instructions came with them.

    Thanks,

Tom, I do it in this order, Rear cargo area, divider just behind the seats, and fronts.

Sorry, I don't have any pictures.

        Tom
I do the carpet the same way Art does. It works quite well. Lay the carpet out in the sun for a couple hours before you start. That makes it easier to work with. I don't have any pictures. Tom

-------The carpet piece that runs over the divider is the first to be installed as its edges are underneath everything else. Then two rear sides and rear bottom. Then fronts and kick-panels last. The sun comment is very important!!!......Bill S

Thanks for all the replys guys got it all but the fronts, just can't get the footwells to sit right and have the binding line up along the rear. I did figure out the jute underlayment the odd piece goes over the Parking Brake console, didn't make sense since the handle is still attached. I did put the pieces out in the sun, and might just set the fronts in and back the car out tomorrow, and to try to get a couple of areas to flatten out over the wheelwells.

              Thanks Again,
              Tom McCabe

                Hi Tom,
I am installing the carpet in my 1966 coupe. I couldn't get the fronts to fit like they should either and finally cut about 1 to 1 1/2 inches of the back edge and had it rebound at a local shop. The worst part was finding some correct binding material. If your is black, you might be able to find some. I found some red that was close and had it redyied to match.
                Good Luck,
