    Richard -

The "JK" identifies the cross-section shape of the rim portion of the wheel, and the "67" is the year of manufacture. There should also be a letter and a number adjacent to the "15x6 JK" that would indicate month and day the rim was made, and there should be a two-letter code stamped on the outside, adjacent to the valve stem hole.

they say DC on the face near the valve stem hole. Should they also have a KM or GM which i do not see on the face. Regarding the date code near the 15x6.....is it possible that early wheels for 67`s do not have this? ty for your responce.

Richard - Typically, the wheel rims have KH (Kelsey Hayes) and GM stamped (on the outside) on one of the webs of the center hub. Regarding the date code, I thought your earlier posting indicated the wheel had a 67 stamped inside the rim. As John indicated, typically there was also a stamp (1-12) to indicate the month of manufacture.

Once again, the stampings are typically there, but it wasn't an exact science. I have seen wheels with various stamped information missing including the code near the valve stem and the month. The missing stamps seem to be infrequent and to the best of my kowledge have not been associated with a specific period of 67 wheel manufacture, although the broken G on the GM stamp has been. The "B" wheels that are on my early 67 have the date codes 8 66. Pete

          Pete,

I have a set of 4 wheels off of my '65 and one of them is missing the GM on the face of the wheel. Could it still be an original GM wheel or is it a replacement for a missing wheel that was originally made for another car manufacturer? FYI, the dates on the non GM wheel were slightly different than the other 3 wheels, but the rest of it is identical, including bumps and the other characteristics and JK markings.

          Thanks,
          Mark

Mark - Without looking at the wheel and maybe even with looking at the wheel it might be hard to tell because you mention other differences beside the missing GM; but it sounds like the difference might be that it's GM SERVICE wheel made at a later date or some "store" brand made by the same manufacturer to fit GM cars but not made specifically for GM.

I figure the wheel manufacturers weren't tied to any specific auto manufacturer so it's quite possible that they made wheels for whom ever wanted them. Hopefully, someone else might have more info along these line. Pete

How many points were deducted for this wheel assembly?

None - as far as I know. Why do you ask?
