Quartz Clock

I have a quartz clock in my 66 and after the car sits for a few days it stops working. After starting the car, a mere tap on the face will start it working again. The clock is 15 years old (a replacement from Zip)
Any shortcuts before I try to get the puppy out of there?

Throw it away

The construction of those quartz clocks is so cheap, and there is no way to repair them. You will probably break off the plastic mountings in taking the movement out of the case. Either buy a new quartz clock or go back to an original mechanical movement (which can be repaired).
