I purchased my car from it's original owner who bought it in California. He says it had the "Plasticon" hardtop(as well as the soft top)when he bought it.I have seen other early model hardtops but they all have a flat rear window and don't have the "Plasticon" emblems on the side. My top has a contoured rear window that curves around the sides. It also appears like more of a "bubble" than flat.Any info on Plasticon or my top would be appreciated.

Re: 54 Hardtop
Scott top did have a more flat window, Plasticon rear window wrapped around , most of them are missing the factory emblem button , The plasticon was the better looking top , both were made in Southern Ca. I have one for my 55 that my brother-law modified so that the side windows fit great the original ones fit bad.In the rain it's great no water entering. To day they can cost 2K up for a complete nice one.

Re: 54 Hardtop
I picked one up from a company in Long Beach in the 1980's called Regal. I think they are out of business now, but it was the "Plasticon" style hardtop. Paid $500.00 freight included to Hawaii.- Top

Re: Plasticon or Scot Top
I thought so..as I got a a top with my 54 pennant blue car that had the more rounded look..and as I recall the buttons on the sides. I will try and find a picture.
I didn't care for the way these tops looked 20 years ago..but ..all of a sudden..restored 54's all black or other new colors other than white..with matching Plasticon or Scott Top hardtops..appeal to me..as very cool retro looks.
