    Fellow NCRS MEMBERS, Just heard that this triad will indeed come about with Kirkorian's blessings.
    CEO Waggoner proposed installing Renault's fabulous 4 cyl. powerhouse in the NEW 2008 Corvette Z06 !!!!!!!
    His bonus in the 10 figures for this inovative idea.

          I realize that most of Don's post is a joke, but just so nobody is confused,

          DETROIT (Reuters) - General Motors Corp.'s (GM) board on Friday approved exploratory talks on a three-way alliance with Nissan Motor Co. Ltd. and Renault SA , increasing the pressure on GM chief executive Rick Wagoner at a crucial point in the automaker's turnaround.

          This is no done deal.

              "The board's decision to put Mr. Wagoner in charge of the discussions, rather than a board committee as Mr. Kerkorian had urged, represented a strong show of support by the directors for the embattled chief executive. The board also reiterated its backing of the turnaround strategy of Mr. Wagoner, who serves as the board's chairman.

              The move by G.M. to approve the talks was expected, since the board risked angering many shareholders by dismissing the discussions out of hand."

                          This is a really sad moment for me. I spend a minimum of an hr a week defending GM against import lovers at work, and now this.

                          Oh, but Toyotas are now built here in the States, so they can be the new "domestic", right?

                          What is up with this country anymore.

                              Jim, I'm with you! How do you think I feel being a 32 year retired employee of GM?? I not only defend GM, but I am vitally dependent on its success. Do you think for one minute that Renualt (builders of wacky,ugly cars) or Nissan have any concern for the fate of hundreds of thousands of GM retirees?
