C3 Water pump pulley - new question

Hello, as mentioned earlier I broke my water pump pulley on my L71 1968 Vette. Last year I replaced the water pump plus belts - could there be a connection between the installation of the water pump (not correctly installed??) and breaking the pulley a half a year later?

I don't know, but it's just puzzling me......

    Two comments, Erik:

    (1) Aged original pulleys CAN break on their own simply due to years of stress and natural fatigue.

    (2) If belt alignment is correct and you've set belt tension to factory spec (see the tune up section of your copy of the Chassis Service Manual), I wouldn't worry about the 'threat' potential of your replacement pulley...

BTW, I've got a few pix of you from the LeMans meet. Shoot me an off-board email and I'll reply with attached pix for you....
