I have tried to connect the heater hose bracket onto the generator U bracket that is bolted to the exhaust manifold, but if I turn the bracket upside down (with the loop bottom towards the hood) it's gets in the way of the generator when the generator is pushed towards the water pump pulley (loosing the belt). If you put the hose bracket facing down (with the loop bottom facing towards the ground, like it shows in the AIM manual) it's too close the exhaust manifold. I currently have the heater hoses routed from the firewall connections, through the fender bracket, turning towards the engine past the tac connection on the generator and then along the engine side of the generator. Can someone send me a picture of their setup. Thank you for your help.

Re: C1 (60) Heater hose bracket question?
Jim,
I wish I could send you a photo but my daughter is currently out of town with my camera! In section 101, sheet 4.00 of my 1959 AIM, the bracket (449)correctly shows the loop pointed toward the center of the car, the hole through the bracket is pointed toward the hood and the bolt passing through the hole is secured into the forward hole of the exhaust manifold. The drawing is misleading in that the bolt appears to go up higher through the U-shaped generator mount bracket. The lower hose goes through the loop in the bracket and around the RH engine mount and the onto the lower water pump bib. My '59 hoses fit just fine. Hope this helps!- Top
