I have disassembled my original brake stop light switch on my '56 in order to rebuild it. It is a very simple switch wtih a spring, two contacts, two washers (one brass) a button and housing that is mounted on a bracket that bolts to the steering column support. I suspect that it is the spring getting weak over time and would like to replace it. The contacts still look good. Any ideas where I might find a replacement spring or thoughts on what might be the cause of the malfunction? BTW- already tried the turn signal switch. All new and works and cancels perfectly. Thanks.
