Need to know of a sealant that will hold up and not give way in a short time. Have sealed successfully several times w/ 3M bedding compound only to give way in days. Bird cage is in excelent condition and primed. Thanks stan

What do you mean by "give way"? I'm sure that somebody here would like to help you, but your post is rather cryptic.
AFAIK, the 3M windshield adhesive is the best stuff out there for that application. It sets up rather quickly, so you have to work fast. There are other products sold in Home Depot, Lowes, etc., used for roof caulking, which dry slower, but seem to hold up just as well. I used black, siliconized roofing caulk to seal up any and all orifices/seams in my 1965 birdcage, before re-assembling the body. I also used it under all steels riveted to the underbody.
