61's strange numbers

I have spotted a 1961 Vette for sale in Europe. White, silver coves, red interior and "fuel injection" inscriptions on the front fenders, 4 speed manual... Looks nice, but, after checking with the owner, the numbers are strange;
Chassis AZ84275 stamped directly on the steering column (not on a plate)instead of the expected 10867S1xxxxx
Engine 3872783 L175 (with a 4bbl carb)
Inscription on the winshield; "State of Florida" AO7415

Any idea anybody? what are these numbers? definatly a patchwork this car?

3872783 is the casting number of the intake manifold, followed by the casting date L175 which is probably November 17 1965. It's not the engine number.

No idea about the other numbers. Looks like a nice car.

I wonder if it one of those..... "Send me the money and I will send you car. (which they do not own AND the photo is of someone elses Vette)."

My guess is the AZ84275 is a State of Arizona assigned DMV Vehicle Identification Tag (VIN Tag)

1960 thru 62 Corvette vin tags had a habit of falling off or getting lost when steering columns were removed for repair. Check with Arizona DMV and you may find history on the car.

A07415 is a DMV identification from Florida. The car was probably sold at NCRS Mecum Auction at a January Regional, after it originally came from Arizona. Check with Chevs and Vettes in Mesa. Pete may have brought the car to Florida......sold it, and then it went to Europe.
