    Re: us royal tires

Back in the fifties passenger car tires were typically four-ply, which meant four layers of fabric that crossed at about a 35 degree angle. Light truck tires often had six layers of fabric to carry heavier loads. In the sixties things got complicated. Many passenger car tires were labeled "four-ply rating". They were actually two-ply tires, but could carry the load of the old four-ply tires. Fortunately, radials have spared us from such hokis pokis. Radials are placarded with the actual number, type, and material composition of the carcass.

On what model Corvette are you going to use US royal tires? It makes quite a difference. US Royal Air ride, US Royal Safety 8, US Royal Safety 800 were all used on Corvettes when new.
