L84 verses LT1

I have recently heard that the LT1 from the 1970 model year actually produced around 430 hp (instead of the stated 370 horses) while the L84 1964/65 model produced the stated 375 horses. Cubic inches does produce more hp, but does 23 more cubes translate into a 55 more horses?? Both motors had the same compression, so whats up--just some wrong information?

I have also read that the SB racer 70 LT1 HP was understated, like the BB racer L-88 was understated, but possibly for different reasons. I have not read a 430HP reference anywhere-but would like too. Could you email me the source of the 430 claim? Thanks.
