    '54 front crossmember assembly

My "new" '54 appears to have been hit in the left front wheel and the repairs were not entirely correct. The left front crossmember is bent back about a half inch at the frame and the threads on the upper outer shaft (left upper A-arm) have been stripped. Also the replaced brake backing plate is rusted through. I have access to '51 and '53 passenger car parts. My reference says the "upper and lower control arms", and the "hub and drum assembly" are an exact replacement, but that the "suspension assembly" is unique to the '53 to '62 corvette. Are parts of the suspension a correct replacement?

Everything you need should work from a 53-4 Pass. car except for the lower A which has a bracket for the sway bar stuff. Cut and weld this bracket to the new lower A and it will work fine.
