What is the difference between the FI and non-FI intake manifold gaskets on a 57? I have a 2x4 270hp that has a fuel boiling problem on a hot soak. I installed the exhaust blockoff plates, but ended up taking the intake back off since I wasn't confident the plates stayed in place. The FI gaskets already have the plates installed. Will they work on a non-FI engine? It seems as though the head and block configuration should be the same.

Re: C1 Intake Manifold Gasket
Mike,
I may be wrong on this but, as far as I know, the intake manifold side gaskets for both engines were the same. The FI unit didn't have a cross over passage in the adapter so blocking the opening in the gasket wasn't necessary.
I believe the only difference between the FI and non FI gasket sets is the fact that the distributor mounting gasket has a notch cut in it for the distributor adapter locating pin.
The "boiling" problem that you are experiencing is becoming more common by the day because of todays new fuels.- Top
