without going to the major corvette part suppliers(paragon/zip,etc.) is there anywhere to buy old sizes of GM nuts and bolts that are not available in typical hardware stores? I'm working on a 62 (on a budget)! Thanks

Re: old nuts and bolts
Yes, you need to find a junk yard, etc. with some cars of that time period. Take a can of WD-40 and a bunch of wrenches and attack the cars. I have had great success doing this. Don't forget the trucks from that time period. You might have to go a distance to find a place like this but they are out there. Most of the repro fasteners are not right anyway. Terry- Top

Re: old nuts and bolts
We have had success at our local body/paint supplier. They have a couple of racks of fasteners simular to the "Help" racks at the local parts houses. The company is J&T out of Syracuse NY. There are others too. NAPA has a good supply of fasteners. Dont rule out the local GM dealers. Doc Rebuild has fair prices on fasteners. But if its original stuff you want vs function you'll need to do the bone yard thing as the last post mentioned. There are vette specific bone yards around.- Top
