Re: 55 V.A
That's interesting. I don't know anything about early C1 but I would have guessed that these numbers would have been stamped into the vacuum advance unit.
Just curious, why are your intake manifold bolts silver?- Top

Re: 55 V.A
Roy-- That is the part I have been looking for for eleven years. Noland Adams also referred to the stamped or cast numbers. I do not know if it was on all of the vacuum advances. Grossmueller says he has only seen 2 in his lifetime. Most of the ones I have seen have no numbers on them and very few are plain (without the hole for the line.)You can advertise till you are blue in the face and cannot find one. Might have to find one on a car and buy the whole car.- Top

Re: 55 V.A
Most I've seen at NCRS the number was cut in to them ( newer units) because they are so rare, and yes all 55 Corvette had the number that I think was CAST in the part #1116085 was for the vacuum, #1116098 non-vacuum.
Try E-Bay now and then you see a 55 Dist and it MAY have a good pic. Showing a original vacuum having the numbers in it.
That is how I found mine years ago on e-bay for about $25.00 throw the Dist out but it had the vacuum advance (real one)
Good luck- Top
