Convertible frame repair

I am going to restore my '69 L89 convertible. Some areas of the windshield frame are rusted. Who is expert at these tricky kinds of repairs, preferably in the Southwest, or California?

I am considering pulling the body myself, with help, to do the chassis/engine work myself. But I am interested in having the body and paint work, in addition to the repair of the rusted windshield frame area done by an expert.

Any recommendations (Phoenix, Denver, LA, San Diego, etc?).

Everett---I don't know of anyone who could competently perform the repair in the area that you prefer. However, Caledonia Classic Cars located in Belding, Michigan specializes in the reproduction of "birdcage" and frame components. They also perform the repairs. I'd call them and, perhaps, they could provide you with a West coast reference. Certainly, they would know who they sell parts to out here. One problem is that cars on the West coast don't suffer from corrosion problems like those in the midwest or east. Of course, there are transplant cars, but, I suspect, that the major expertise in the type of repair you need is to be found in the midwest or east.

Be brave and go for it. My 68's in progress---have lots of garage space, and a Mig welder handy. Sorry, I'm in Ohio. take lots of notes and pictures.
