Need Help! I have had two sets of repro seat covers installed and both time there was no concave or depressed area in the seat bottom. The first time the original covers were removed and a repro set put on. The second time I purchase new bottom seat foam and the result was the same. Is this depression a result over time or are the installers not knowledgeable on how to install the covers to get the concave seat. Any help will be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Ray - The seat bottoms should have the depressions (Judging Manual,Interior). Xavier at Al Knoch did mine a few years ago, and set the depression accordingly. I also used new foam. -

To achieve the deep concave pocket" seats that are required for judging, the center section springs are compressed and tied in smaller "bags" than the surronding springs.Comment

Ray, Check eBay 4644841211, as far as I can tell, they are 1962 original seats, original covers, springs, tracks. Are the depressions, as you would expect to see on untouched originals. I would not call them "deep concave pockets", as you describe, although the original foam has settled some I'm sure. DaveComment

If you have access to a copy of Hot Rod magazine Jan. 1962 page 32 you will see a seat with 500 miles on it. I can't do this to my new seats that have the correct spring set up. TerryComment
