    So it's a C3. It always helps to list the model year and other minor details like axle ratio and modifications.

    Without head flow data I can't model the engine accurately, so I recommend you go with the OE cam and OE indexing.

      Yes Duke it is a 69. I thought I had mentioned that but just noticed that I hadn't so I apologize for the confusion.

      The engine was assembled Jan 16/69, the THM-400 is original as are the 3:08 gears in the diff. It will get F70-15 Bias Plys. My intent is also to reinstall the 2" diameter exhaust which is correct for 69 and as I mentioned, it must idle stock.

      All I was really looking for was a few tips on parts selection and mild machining like port matching the intake runners, etc. Should I use cast rings or moly rings...that kind of stuff. I had hoped that after 35 years or so that someone would have improved on the original cam profile but seeing as the stock cam is still the way to go, that's what it will get.

      I know that a guy can play around with the Q-Jet and distributor to have the engine perform a little better but maybe I'll just leave them alone too.

      Anyways, thanks for the replies guys, it helps a lot...stock it is.

        If you're going to re-ring anyway, you could consider the zero gap second rings. They don't make a whole lot of difference when the engine is new, but do keep the blow-by much lower as wear has set in. Then again, if you're just driving it a few thousand miles a year, it probably won't matter anyway.
