    Annual NCRS dues

When I wrote out a check for my NCRS annual dues this month, I thought about this board and how much useful information I've gathered to help me with my '67 coupe body off restoration project. I've made alot of progress on the car, but I've saved alot of time and trouble because of the help I've gotten in here. This board has paid for my membership multiple times over.

Just a note of thanks for all who have been a help.
    Thanks!
    Tony

Too bad more members don't participate

Do we "blow the horn" loud enough about this discussion board in the NCRS publications ? With more posters submitting pictures with text, the answers to various questions are literally worth the "thousand words" of description.

          Re: Annual NCRS dues

          Well said Tony.
It took me 10 long years to restore my 68 Coupe and the value of the help and suggestions I have received here far exceeds the dues I have paid since I joined. Money well spent.
Thank you to all who have answered my many (sometimes dumb) questions and to those who keep this board up and runningso the rest of us can benefit from this valued resource.

            New NCRS Membership

After reading this selection of positive remarks and some of the conversation I have heard with fellow members about the hobby becoming older. I had an outstanding concept. If half of our members with younger children were to give them a separate membership, we would increase our membership and help to carry on this wonderful tradition.

              Re: New NCRS Membership

Most of my friends are puzzeled when I tell them I restored my 60 myself.
(They know my level of patience) They don't know about the mountains of information that I received during the seven year process. I don't know what I would have done or how I would have finished it without the help from the kind and sharing people that came to my aid when needed.

                Dennis,
                That is an excellent idea.
Unfortunately, my 14 year old has no interest in Corvettes. Kind of sad since it would be a great father /son thing but I don't want to force it on him, but deep in my heart I would love it if we could spend time in the garage working on the car. But now you've got me thinking: maybe there is akid in the local high school who loves cars and would appreciate a membership and it just might be the motivator to get him interested in the Corvette hobby.
Thanks for the suggestion, now the ball is in my court to see what I can do with it.

                  Kurt,
Excellent idea about a high school student, maybe the NCRS can add this as a task or function to obtain the Chapter of the Year award and have each chapter sort of adopt a high school student for a year to see if the student becomes interested and then have attend judging events; tech and judging schools. I would think some tech high schools would accept this toward some outside class studies. Let's see what others think.

Save The Wave, and more important the hobby.
