C2:67 My First Car- 1967

Bet you thought it was a Corvette. Here it is:


4 banger, 4 speed, 4 doors, got me from Norfolk, VA to Queens, NY, 30+ mpg.

But it wasn't 18 months later that I traded it for my second car. Here it is (in 2006):


327/300, 4 speed, 2 doors, got me from NY to CA in 69, 20 mpg.

Boy, I was a lot skinnier then.

How many of you guys spent Memorial Day working on your Corvette? I did.

Jerry - It's a GOOD thing Don was around back then since you still have your second car which was also a 67 you might still be driving your first 67. You might still be on the road to the Flagstaff Regional and at least when you drove up to the gas pump in your second 67, people knew what kind of car it was. Keep having fun. Pete

Actually, the Renault was a pretty zippy car for $1800 brand new. Got me home on weekends once in a while. One neat feature was that the front seats moved forward, and the backs went down to match the rear seats, the whole car became a bed. Got to use that feature on occasion.

That was a great selling point, when Don's bride to be told him to "get rid of the Vette, and get a nice family car"
