    '66 Coupe Ground Strap Question

    Hi All,

About two weeks from completing my 2 year project on a 1966 427/425 car. Every thing is largely correct except using Alum head 454 engine & airgap intake. I have several ground straps I'm unsure of where they hook up. Any advice would be appreciated. The car has side pipes, PW, PS, PB, Tele, KOs, 4 sp, K66. P/Antenna ground is hooked up correctly.

1)Wiper Motor - have a ground strap that has a slip on clip on one side and around a 3/8 hole on the other side.
    2) Ground strap that was noted drivers side front motor mount. Which bolt hole on motor mount and to where on car frame?
3)Strap that bolts to driver side frame body mount and clips onto something.
    4) Any other ground staps I need to be concerned with?

    Thanks, Eric

    Eric -

The wiper motor is grounded to the outboard starter attaching bolt with a pigtail harness that also serves as the heater blower motor ground.

The motormount ground strap goes under the upper forward mount-to-block bolt, and the other end is screwed to an existing pierced hole in the front side of the frame bracket.

The strap from the #1 body mount clips over the front edge of the body sill.

The other ground straps (accelerator lever, exhaust pipe U-bolts, etc.) are shown in the U69 radio section of the Assembly Manual.
