Hi, Does anyone know the correct [part numbers] combination for the water pump and balancer pulley for a 1965 327/350 with air cond and power steering. I have an alignment problem between the two. Thanks, Mike

You can piece it together from the AIM. The base engine crank pulley was 3790356 and unchanged by option additions. In the C60 (A/C) section, the water pump pulley changes to 3850680 for all SB engines except L76. In the N40 (PS) option section, an aux pulley, 3751252, is bolted onto the main crank pulley to run the PS pump. -

Hi Jack, I am using balancer pulley 3744043BA with 3995641CS water pump pulley. I am suspecting I have the wrong balancer pulley. I am using the 232 third pulley for the PS but my problem in the alignment between the upper water pump puley and the lower balancer pulley. I have the original 8" finned balancer and the short water pump but the alignment is off probably 1/2" between the two. The lower pulley is a double groove as is the water pump. I am ordering a 3858533 balancer pulley to try that. I just thought someone on here had been through this. The AIM isn`t very clear when you look at the options under the C60 and L79. There is a whole list of pulley and part number changes plus most of those have been superceded sine the AIM was printed. Thanks, MikeComment

I can't give the exact answer to your question but I believe the 533 crank pulley is correct for 350HP and higher. This pulley is 1/2" wide and deep groove where the belts ride and I'm sure the water pump pulley is the same configuration. Afer you get the pulleys correct, your problem with alignment may be the hub that's pressed on the water pump. Check the archives because this topic has been discussed before and the correct measurement for you to check this hub dimension is mentioned. Not 100% sure about this either but I believe third groove is PS/CS, second groove is AC/WP/CS, and first groove is ALT/WP/CS.Comment
