I've checked several suppliers and can't find one that suppliers the correct master cylynder that will meet NCRS specs. Some suppliers say they have one but then I buy it and discover they're wrong. Acording to the TIMJG the correct one won't have bleeder screws and will have casting #5460346. Does anyone know who offers a rebuild or repro that will work?

Eric------
The casting number and configuration you need are not very hard to find. The 5460346 casting is a 1-1/8" bore master cylinder that was used from 1967 through 1982. The non-bleeder version was used from about 1974 onward. It is, by far, the most plentiful of the '346' castings out there.
If your local auto parts store happens to have a rebuilt master cylinder in stock for your 1975 with PB application, take a look at it. Most likely, it will be just what you're after. If not, you can try another parts store to see what they have in stock. It should not take too many attempts. I don't recommend parts store rebuilt master cylinders, though, inasmuch as they are usually not sleeved but have been HONED. However, they are cheap and you can get the CORE you need. Send it off to White Post or Apple Hydraulics and have it sleeved and rebuilt.
Another option is the new line of GM Restoration Parts reproduction master cylinders. These are currently being offered by an outfit called "Corvette Stainless Steel Brakes". However, I imagine that most of the Corvette parts vendors will have them soon, if not already. The one you need is their number MC-GM7576P. I can't tell you right now if these things are "100% correct", though. They are brand new, however. Their phone number is 305-256-8077.In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

I agree with Joe start hiting your auto parts stores and ask to see all the REBUILT M/C for your 75. If you happen to find one with bleeders as I have buy it also as I need one and have found one by this method before. They will try to sell you a new one but say no thanks as they have a casting with funny overseas markings. The ones I have found say on the box they are resleeved but as for the quality they have worked for me.

Pic's & Question
72 with Power Brakes: I just removed my original MC. Is it "judging acceptable" if the 'PG' stamp is off to one side a little and not exactly squarely stamped? I compared it to the 4 pics at Rik's Corvette Parts website (it's at the bottom of the MC pages) and those "New" GM restoration's look exactly right, but I'm far from an expert. The "PG" stamp is perfect there, and they are painted black (mine was un-painted) which I imagine to the purist's out there, may raise a question or eyebrow. Comments from NCRS judges??????- Top

Re: C3 75 Power Brake Master Cylinder ?
I checked Corvette Stainless Steel Brakes before posting this message and the one on their website had the wrong markings for a power brake application. I'll give them a call and questions them further. If they don't have one then I'll take your advice and start checking the local auto parts stores.
Thanks for the assistance.- Top

Re: C3 75 Power Brake Master Cylinder ?
I talked to Luke at Corvette Stainless Steel Brakes today. He confirmed that their website didn't list the maser cylinder for my application. However, they do offer the correct unit for my application. They even offer date stamping for an additional $50.00. He said it will ship in the next few days. He was knowledgable and seemed to really care that the product that he was offering was the correct one for my car.
I'll let you know how it looks when it arrives.
So far, I'd recommend them to anyone.- Top
