Re: 1119515 Voltage Regulator
Joe, I meant 1119515. Sorry for the typo. The 1119515 I have has a date code of 1C. I was told by John Pirkle that it is March 1971. Check out e-bay listing 4637854152. I purchased this piece thinking it was for a 67. Since I was told it is not, I have decided to list and sell it. The former owner swears that it is for a 67.
Thanks.- Top

Re: 1119515 Voltage Regulator
bill is correct. lots of gm cars of the 60's and early 70's used the 515 regulator. when i'm junkyarding, my favorite cars to get the 515's is the corvairs. they mounted the regulator in the engine bay where very little oxidation of the 515 could occur. mike- Top

Re: 1119515 Voltage Regulator
George----
The former owner is correct; the regulator is for a 1967 Corvette----it's just not NCRS-correct for a 1967 Corvette due to the dating issue and, possibly, other minor issues of configuration.
The 1119515 regulator was used in PRODUCTION for other cars well after it's use in Corvettes ended after the 1968 model year. Corvettes were among the very first GM cars to go to the SI-series, internal regulator type alternators. Other vehicles were phased in later. However, the fact that the PRODUCTION use of the 1119515 regulator continued after 1968 is rather moot. The 1119515 regulator was manufactured for and available in SERVICE for MANY years after 1968. So, this regulator could very well be a SERVICE piece. Later SERVICE examples were configured somewhat differently but those being manufactured in 1971 I would imagine would, aside from dating, be very close, if not identical, to those manufactured in 1967.In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top
