Sort of like a center hub transplant and then used the pc-7 to fill in the gaps. I assume you cleaned up he mating surfaces to minimize the filler required. Did you graft a piece onto the outer ring also?? Or, did you sort of shape it yourself? I respect the craftsmanship very much! I supose you masked and painted with a urethane??

    Thanks, Terry

Yes, transplant would be a good term. I posted a picture because I'm sure it's worth a thousand words. I tried to use as much of the wheels original plastic as could be. Whatever I did fill, I make sure the adjacent surfaces had "grip" to them. So either I cut the edges real funny and jagged or I'd drill lots of holes. That way the PC7 could really have something to grip and hopefully never crack or seperate. Once I did all the body filling, I let it set for 3 weeks before painting to make sure it didn't shink. So my weekends were a little spread out.

I really like it when people do that sort of thing. I have done similar things with body work and fiberglass or repairing shifter consoles that got sat on or procreated on, etc. Very rewarding. I also like getting ideas from others. You really showed me the limits on what you can do with a steering wheel. Great work. We should call you "Michealangelo of the wheel!"

        Thanks,Terry

Awesome job-- I would have done what your friends suggested and thrown it away.--shows how dumb I am (Untalented too). I am contiually amazed by the talent show on this board. Thanks for sharing. Would look good on my 55

            Isaac,

I've used PC 7 myself and have been impressed with it. What sold me on it was the way it was displayed at the hardware store, showing it attaching a golf ball to a glass bottle, both very difficult surfaces to grip.
