67' rear end housing cover

Differential rear cover # 3871375. Should this cover have a casting date near the drain plug hole for 1967 or were date codes cast in later???

I have seen some with dates and some without. I have heard for 67 they could may or may not have a date. It would be on the flange where the bolts bolt the cover to the housing near the drain plug.

Hi guys date codes are on pass side of the rear, true they may or may not have a date. Phil 8063
