C6 Question

Hey all, picked up the new C6 at the Museum on Tuesday, what a ride. Went from Bowling Green to Nashville then to Atlanta, where I am now. Question, at about 400 miles an indicator started to appear on the cluster. It's a yellow light that indicates that I must shift from first to fourth. Took the car to the local Chevy dealer and the mechanic said it was a normal feature. It has to do with RPM's, heat and a few other odds and ends.

Same driving habits before and after 400 miles. The Mechanic also said that there are some features that are computer controlled and do not kick in until certain miles are attained.

Anyone have any info on the ( yellow shift 1->4) indicator???

if you rev it up high enought before you shift the light will not come on but drive it easy it will as this 1ST to 4TH gear change is in there to get passed the "gas gulzzer tax". the after market corvette places sell a device that plugs into the wiring harness down by the tranny to eleminate this 1ST to 4TH shift light and the 1ST to 4TH shift

Clem, thanks. I've received the same comments from others. The reason I got concerned was that I had not seen the light till I had about 400 miles on the car (about 365 to be closer). Also, just before it started I really stressed the clutch backing up a driveway. You know that smell that make you think your an idiot and curse yourself.

I was afraid I broke something.

i buy auto trans because i am too old and lazy to shift so i do not run into that problem

off to the NCM tomorrow to see the new

"atomic orange" color for the 2007 C-6. want to see if it is enought for me to get fired up about a new one. anyone one else going there this weekend?

Clem, when I took the tour on Tuesday, there was one on the line, a 2007. It's very close to the 1972 Ontario Orange. It looked good to me!

Order a "CAGS" (1st to 4th eliminator) from any corvette store now and it will be there when you get home.
5 min install.

she told me she is not raising my allowance enought to buy a ZO-6 just a regular corvette is all i am allowed. i tried to buy her a new impala SS this week to softer her up but she told me she was wise to me.

there are several corvette websites that now have a picture of it now but each one looks different. when i get back the first part of next week e mail me your e mail address and i will send you a picture. the light has a lot to do with what the color scans look like as ones i have taken of my precision red 2005 C-6 are not a very true color.
