Can anyone tell me where I can find out what a 1965 Corvette Knock-Off wheel hammer looks like. The judging manual gives no details other than there are no external welds from the head to the handle. I have a very old hammer that is welded in this area (maybe a repair) and has holes in the handle that my repro one does not. Does anyone know exactly what one should look like? Also the car has a serial number of 18300... Was carpet used at all on the lower portions of the storage compartments? Thanks, Rick

Re: 1965 Knock-Off wheel hammer
Look in Noland Adam's book for a tutorial on the KO lead hammer and it's change over time. On the carpet used in the jack compartment to keep roadside tools from rattling, that was an early assy method. Your car is rather late (18K, should be a late May build... By that time the carpet was gone and the rubber grommet was installed on the lug wrench to suppress noise...- Top
