    Like The New Restorer

Recieved the new Restorer issue yesterday and I really like the new look. I especially like the new, larger title print and revamped contents page. I haven't yet read any articles, or given it a closer look........what struck me immediately, though, was how "spiffy" the mag appears. It looks much more like a modern, commercial car mag with more eye catching color and use of print.
There is one glaring omission, though, and that is the lack of any NCRS Meet results, specifically, the Regional in Kissimmee. Maybe results were not ready when mag went to press.

I love it! All are good but this one is one of the best.

I agree. I think the changes make for an easier read.

"In my opinion page after page of triple spaced meet results was nothing but dead filler"--

--Unless of course you had a car judged at Kissimmee or somewhere else. Then if by chance you had say busted at least one knuckle getting it prepared, studied the judging guide until you practically wore the cover off it, toiled after work and weekends to the crooked hours of the mornings going without sleep using shoplights removing, cleaning, stripping, repainting and replacing parts, had your wife ready to file for divorce, found out what dash rash is and why odorless mineral spirits are such a great invention and why when spraying paint in a closed garage that invariably overspray will make it onto everything else in your garage including your aforementioned wife's new car, prowled junkyards, pored over ebay and google until your vision was blurry, explored new limits to your credit card, knew the routes, delivery times and names of your Postman, UPS and Fedex drivers, went to countless car shows to compare fits and finish, flew to Carlisle and carried a date coded starter and other parts about 4 miles and then back to your rental car, found out your luggage was overweight and jettisoned half your belongings (but not the parts) to make weight for the airline, endured a 20 hour layover because Northwest mechanics were on strike, spent hours on the phone (and on this board) emailing, photographing and getting information about your car from anyone who would listen, practically forgotten your kids names, survived all that, paid the judging fee, prayed it wouldn't rain, then took time off from work to drive your car to the meet all in search of that holy grail of absolution known as NCRS Top Flight, got the thing, and then could look back on the whole experience and call it a good time. To someone like this, then it would be something more than filler and seem worthy of a modest redeeming footnote. To the rest of the mere mortals who could care less, were sorry. BTW-if you need me I'll be in the garage .

            Great Response!

            Charles,

            I love that response.

And, I got more comments from people on seeing my car listed as a Top Flight winner than I did from writing a 5 page article on very expensive radiator caps.

              Charles -

I've never seen our "disease" summarized so eloquently - nicely done!

I also agree with Charles re the content, however, IMHO the cover stock should be a little bit heavier.
