67 jack storage compartment

Should the storage compartment be painted interior color, mine being black or no paint at all,or should it be carpeted same as interior color (I've seen suppliers providing this, but not sure factory did this. If painted, would the black spray paint provided by Long Island Corvette Supply,used for the engine compartment inner fenders be a good choice for its dull semi-gloss look.

Compartment should be blackout paint.... no carpet.

No need to order any. Look no further than your local Walmart or hardware store and buy a can of Krylon 1613. If you're in the country and close to a John Deere dealer, Blitz Black is also an alternative. I bought some BB the other day and found they have changed the nozzle. It doesn't have the better nozzle with the wide pattern like it used to.

Don,

The book (JG) says that the interior of the storage compartment is coodinated with the color of the carpet in semi-gloss. Since my carpet is black, there was no question. I just used that semi-gloss engine compartment blackout paint:


See Glorie, no more "rust, rust, rust".

Not sure about the other carpet colors, but black goes with anything.
