427 fuel pump push rod?

ok, i have asked 3 different people, and have gotten three different answers! my question is this, is the fuel pump push rod different for a big block vs small block??? answers so far: the same, big block is longer, and "i don't know"

As shown in the 1970 Parts book, "ROD, Fuel Pump" Part number 3704817, 55-70, no indication of BB vs Smallblock

And, I'll confirm that, too----small block and big block fuel pump pushrods are the same. For this piece, I don't use the GM part, though. For flat tappet cams, I use the ARP-manufactured pushrod. For steel roller cams, I use the Comp Cams pushrod with bronze tip.

thanks joe....just curious, is there any reason i should use the stock rod?? this car is running a flat tappet cam. rick

The stock GM rod will work fine. Literally millions of cars have used it with no problem, at all. I, personally, prefer the ARP piece, but it's certainly not something that falls into the category of something I highly recommend.
