No one came close to offering me the number I thought I should get for the parts I have collected for my 1963 Z06. Therefore I have started to throw out some chum to see what will come to the surface and take the bait. I have listed an NOS 1963/1964 grille, front and rear adjustible Koni shocks. The auction starts on 4/10 at noon PST. Other parts to follow.

Re: Starting the sale of parts
Kevin what is your problem, I have been a member since 1980, a National Judge, help write early Judging Manual for 1963/1964. What have you done for this Origaniztion other then gripe. Many people have requested I sell them some of my collection. Rather then pick one person I feel it best to offer them to whoever wants them and the let the market decide who gets them.
I did not advertise anything on this site but I did let everyone know that is interested they will be available.
Get a life and try saying something nice!- Top

Re: Starting the sale of parts "David"
My 2cents
! You dint mention any price on your parts, You dint try to sell them here, you just gave a heads up for people in this forum that other wise might miss out , you dint even say where you listed them, I see no reason to call the police!!
Heck! I just showed a Corvette with a bubble top on it and I got the same response also by some cussing me about selling them , because people know I repro them.
Just mentioning what I just said about the bubble tops , some one will now say I'm advertising them. , you really have to pick your words when posting here, I've seen to many people jump on others (thinking they know what a person is saying)- Top

Re: Starting the sale of parts
David.....You're pretty stuck on yourself. If you have to blow your own horn, it's' obvious you think more of yourself than we do and YOUR parts should be worth more. Time to eat some crow...or was that chum!! I have to agree with Kevin and Bob, follow the rules..- Top

Re: Starting the sale of parts
From original post:
"I have listed an NOS 1963/1964 grille, front and rear adjustible Koni shocks. The auction starts on 4/10 at noon PST. Other parts to follow."
From follow up post:
"I did not advertise anything on this site..."
If that isn't a direct advertisment, it's pretty darn close. It's only missing the eBay link.
From the 'rules of the road':
"Issues that are Inappropriate are advertising items for sale or wanted, either for individual or for business purposes, using poor taste in these discussions."
From follow up:
"Kevin what is your problem, I have been a member since 1980, a National Judge, help write early Judging Manual for 1963/1964."
I imagine that A LOT of members buy and sell stuff on eBay; what is the minimum amount of membership activity that is required to use the tech board to "let everyone know [parts] will be available"?- Top

Re: Starting the sale of parts
Some interesting developments: the original post let to 8 others.
At one point in time, there were 589 views of the original post but 1366 total views of the subsequent posts.
As the old advertising adage suggests, say what you like, just spell my name right !- Top

Re: Starting the sale of parts
We are talking a word game here! I see people using words like
Where can I buy
Where Can I get
Where do I go
How do I locate
Should I sell
Who can repair
I have extra part
The part is wrong year for my Corvette
Any one have this part?
And so on and so on!!
I read these remarks and say to my self, ( This guy may buy a part from me or I could reason that he may sell me a part).
So should I report it to the word police? I think some people are over sensitive and can read any thing in to what they think a person is saying. It reminds me of the frays (Politicly Correct or Cant we all just get along)- Top

Just emphasizes why NCRS needs a
part of the website dedicated to a parts forum. Surprising how the elected officials seem to ignore the desires of the dues paying members and donate any "extra" money to charity instead of using it for the good of the NCRS members.

Re: Starting the sale of parts
They sure do and I will be the first to jump on someone that did not. So many members close to 50 wanted to know when I started to part out the collection I felt it easiest to let everyone now at one time. Sorry I upset the newbies.- Top

Re: Starting the sale of parts
I am member #36314 and most likely I am considered a newbie! I have no problem with your posting. I felt you were notifying NCRS members who may be in need of some rare parts that they were now for sale.

Re: Starting the sale of parts
Can't defend your original post so you attack the people who point out the error of your ways. Then, you revert to revisionist history to justify your mistake...
New reason for post..."So many members close to 50 wanted to know when I started to part out the collection I felt it easiest to let everyone now at one time."
Original post..." No one came close to offering me the number I thought I should get for the parts I have collected..."
Real men can admit when they have made a mistake and apologize to those offend.Bob- Top
