    C2 power steering

What year was the change over to the large diameter relay rod for corvette power steering? The P/S unit I have also has a metal bracket attached to the valve to seperate/shield the pressure lines and I'm not sure when this part started in use. Thanks for any help, Tim Barbieri

    Tim------

The 7/8" relay rod was first used for the 1969 model year. Soon thereafter it became SERVICE for all earlier C2 and C3. 1969 was also the first year for the 7/8" relay rod for manual steering cars. It can be used for earlier cars, too, but it is not designed for use with a steering shock absorber.

The HOSE GUIDE bracket on the power steering control valve was first used for the 1974 model year. The 74-75 bracket was different than the 76 and later, though. The one supplied on all new GM valves, most reproduction valves and most rebuilt valves is the 76+ bracket.
