    Mark Gorney

Back on April 4th, Mark Gorney posted on the 3890421 smog pump pulley for 1966& 1967 C-2 with K-19, as the web side rearward. What is the web side? Thank you in advance. Dale

    Dale-----

AIR pump pullies are one of the few pullies that can be installed "either side out". Since the pullies are "asymmetrical", doing so changes the alignment of the pulley groove with respect to the DRIVE pulley.

If you look at a typical AIR pump pulley, you will not that one side is "shallow" and the other side "deep". On the "deep" side you can see the underside of the pulley groove. The "web" side is the "shallow" side, as described. Sometimes, the "shallow" side of AIR pullies has a series of VERY shallow, "radiating grooves". I believe that this is where the term "web" side comes from, but I'm not sure of that. In any event, the web side is the side OPPOSITE the side that you can see the underside of the pulley groove.
