My '64 Roadster was judged a few weeks ago at a local NCRS chaper event.... I was "dinged" several points because my original dust shields (over the A-arms)are broken and the "original" staples on one extend over the edge of the shield and on to the inner fender liner. Obviously, some guy on the assembly line in St. Louis 42 years ago was having a bad day and missed his target with the staple gun.
I am going to replace the shields. Would you use the "original" staple holes and take the point deductions or create new holes that are neat and uniform along the edge of the shield?
My preference is to use the original holes....juding be dammed
Thoughts....?
