    C-1; Venetian Red Interiors...

Just wondering about 56-57 Corvettes with venetian red interiors. I have seen that the interiors are also Shoreline Beige I believe? I was wondering about the steering wheel, hub/bell and turn signal housing? What color should they be for a venetian red interior? Is the wheel to be Venetian red, but the hub and turn signal to be shorline beige? Or can they all be Venetian red? Or should they all be shorline beige? I'm lost.
    Thanks,
    -Tyson

This is covered in some detail in the color and trim charts at the back of the '56-'57 JG; in almost all cases, the areas you mention were shoreline beige with either the red or beige interior, with the steering wheel rim matching the seats.

      Hi John -

My late 57 interior is all red, including the lower instrument panel.

Is this ok for Flight judging, given that the JG says that although the Chevrolet charts show beige for this area, "evidence indicates that this specification may not have been followed for every red interior car."

A full deduct would be 15 points, a major, major hit. Actually, I'd hate to be penalized at all for a situation which is known to have occurred, as is the case here. Am I ok on this?

      Thank you!
      Cal

        Cal,
My late 1957 is all red inside also. I know for a fact that this is correct,
because the interior is all original, including the rugs.

As I recall, '57 "1st Design" black or red cars had the lower instrument panel area painted red, and that changed to beige on "2nd Design" cars - don't recall the VIN range where that occurred, though.
