    72 LT-1 Fuel pump

Does anybody know a good source for this part? Paragon had one for around $50 in the catalog w/o the 40709 # stamped on it, but it did have the AC logo. I tried to order it online & its about $155 now. All the major vendors I looked at were in the $150 range. All I care about is the AC logo, any ideas?

    Thanks,
    Tony

    Re: 72 LT-1 Fuel pump

    Tony-----

The AC 40709 fuel pump, originally used for 1970-72 Corvettes with LT-1, is GM-discontinued. It MAY still be available through some Delco dealers, though. However, it is VERY, VERY unlikley that any will have a pump with the "AC" logo on it. In fact, you're more likely to find a pump with the "40709" number stamped on it and NO logo, than you are to find a pump with the logo and no AC number. If the pump has the logo, the chances are almost 100% that it will have the AC number, too.

The practice of including the cast-in logo on AC fuel pumps ended about 1984, or so. That's when the old AC division of GM stopped manufacturing all mechanical-type fuel pumps. After that time, all AC mechanical fuel pumps were manufactured by others for packaging in Delco boxes. The "AC" logo "went away" as a result of this change.
