    Garage floor epoxy

I read John Hinkley's thred about "Home Pro Floors". (sounded great). I am tired of looking at cracked concrete.
I contacted them & they do not service Southern Calif.
Can any one reccomend a contractor that services my area. I do not want to "google" contacts. I need a good reccomendation... Thank, Don

    Re: Garage floor epoxy

    Don-

Our builder used 'The Garage People' on new construction 3 years ago, and the floor still looks brand new. It stands up to the edges of steel ramps, and there's no fluid that a C1 can leak that doesn't just wipe right up. It was $800 for a two car garage- sorry, I don't recall the exact square footage. Their # is 800.945.8228, and their website is linked below.

Whatever you do, make sure they put some sand flecks in it, otherwise it's slicker than goose snot when wet.....

      Thanks Rob,
I gave them a call. I like your floor & the 61. Your front license displays 56? I sold a 61 same color combo with 2x4s carbs. 2 years ago. I also am a C1 fan. Don

Actually it's a '62- you looking at the grille?

        Don-

I have to admit I'm confused by the grille on it, I'm pretty sure it's original to the car. In the pic it looks almost silver, but in regular light it looks like badly faded black- I wonder whether it was a gold grille underneath that got painted? (Now I have some reading to do in the archives and the Winter 1980 restorer.....)

The license plate is a 1956 series plate- there's a 1962 registration sticker on the rear plate.

Re: Rob, How 'bout flipping the mirror 180 degrees

Good eyes, Dennis! I know it's upside down, but I'm 6'4". If the mirror's right-side-up, unless I really slouch I can't adjust the mirror 'high' enough to see anything but the decklid. I don't want to crank on the ball of the mirror too much, so it works better upside down.

              '62 grille color drawing notes

Rob, I have the drawing for the '62 grille. the drawing is dated 1/24/61 which is strange for a '62 drawing. A bit late to start a drawing for a '62 part. Since it was a color change only it is possible though.

It calls out an "aluminum Extrusion Alloy #6463"

"Anodize under suitable conditions to produce desired lustre and corrosion resistance per GM 4472-M code 20. Dyed black finsih to match engineering sample."

there are no gold notes or chart. If there was a gold grille it would have been called out on this drawing most likely. The JGM says that gold is possible though. Perhaps some were gold anodized and the black wore off or was never applied (doubtful)?
