    C1 wiper transmission help please!

I am trying to hook up the lines for my '56 wiper transmisssions using the instructions on the last page of '56/57 in Nolands book. The problem that I am having is there is no movement when I push down on the stem to release the "clutch" that is to provide me with the extra line needed to reach around the spool. These were rebuilt about five years ago yet I get no movement on either side. Short of assuming that they need rebuilt, is there a way to loosen the clutch mechanism without disassembly? They were working fine when I removed them about a year ago. Thanks for ideas and help.

A Google search will also reveal some not so nice remarks about the technical committee that developed ASCII code and why there is an ampersand on the keyboard, but no cents symbol. Another case of the aheader we go the behinder we get.

              Re: How'd you get

Never thought about Googling that. I'd just never seen the symbol used previously in a post.

Unfortunately I don't pre-write my responses in Word or anything else, so it's easier to stay with $0.02. I think.

                  Re: How'd you get

                  Terry,

Since I do a number of posts from home, work, hospital and other locations, that just isn't feasible. So I deal with the $0.02 issue.

And live with the occasional typos.
