I am going to sell one of my Vettes. The question is, which one to keep? In your estimation, which one would be worth more in the long run? Keep the 63 2 top fuelly with restored numbers , or keep the 67, hardtop only, air conditioned, small block, automatic with all original matching numbers? Thanks for your help!

Re: Sell the 63 or 67?
Scott,
If it were me, I would keep the one I liked the best. Trying to figure out which one will be worth more in the future is like trying to guess the next hot stock. I wouldn't even hazard a guess as to which will be more valuable in the future. Let the collector car market do whatever it will. It's all about enjoying the cars. If they appreciate during out stewardship, then that's just a bonus. JMHO

LOL!!!
I love that one, Tony.
You love them both. So why sell either? Let your estate worry about it.

Re: Sell the 63 or 67?
I'll go out on a non-PC statement. I've had both a 63 L-76 and a 67 L-79. I know the, "Buts it's a 67 statement". I'd sell the 67. If it was a 4-speed, then a toss-up. But a fuel 63 4-speed is hard to replace. You can always find a 67 4-speed later. Then again your wife may not agree.- Top

Re: Sell the 63 or 67?
There are lots of things to be considered. I'm not going to ask why you want to sell one.
If you can't afford both, you keep the one you like.
If money is not a factor and you need the space, you put one or both in to storage.
It would be just a guess on my part but I think the fuelie will be worth more eventually.
I own both a 2001 and a '63 fuelie coupe (in restoration). I know the '63 is worth more than the 2001 and probably always will.
If I lost my job tomorrow and had to sell one of my choice, I'd keep the 2001 because it's the car I always wanted even though it would probably cost me more over time. I know others that would go the other way.- Top

Re: Sell the 63 or 67?
Sell them BOTH now!
By now you, as a long time owner of these mid-years, are old and getting senile and no longer be able to enjoy either of these cars. Better to sell the cars to an "almost" old and senile guy to enjoy for a year or two while the cars are at, or almost at, the zenith of their value.
You got to let the "almost" old and senile guy "think" there is some appreciation value left. Of course you want to sell your cars quickly because the "almost" old and senile guy may develop Alzeheimers before he officially reaches "Old and Senile" status.
Remember, buyers of mid-year cars are not getting any younger and the younger guys either do not want these cars or cannot afford them.
Time is of the essence!!!!!
By the way, if they are cheap, I'M ALL IN ON THE PURCHASE!!!!!- Top
