I have a 54 corvette that has been restored and have some slack in the wiper cables under the dash. The wipers work and I need information about the correct procedure to remove the slack in both cables-passenger and driver side. Please let me know if anyone has this information.

Hi Larry. There is a way, but I've forgotten the details. I'm assuming that you're talking about the wiper trans cables. You have to remove the wiper arms, then press downward on the shaft. Larry, you remove the wipers and press down on the shaft and spring will tension the cables. If it does not then the racthet mechanisim is frozen which is not uncommon. There are a number of people which will rebuild the transmissions as new ones are no longer available. JohnComment
