    Bolt/Screw part # 9419400

Does anybody have the specifications for this bolt (ie, length, diameter, finish, etc.) It holds the two transmission cooling lines to the bottom of the front crossmember by going through atwo clips and screwing into the crossmember. I got the part # from the AIM manual and I'm sure I have the bolt/screw somewhere but its one of the very few items that didnt get marked when I disassembled the car.

    Thanks for your time.

GM #9419400 was never available as a SERVICE part and I don't otherwise have specs for it.

      Joe,

Thanks for checking your records. I was lucky enough that I found one other place on the car that used the same bolt. I removed it and was able to match to the one that I had that was unmarked.

It's weird that some of the part numbers in the AIM never made it to GM's serviceable parts inventory. I suspect it had something to do with last minute revisions or installations or the engineer assigning choosing a part that wasn't standard so a temporary number was assigned and never transferred to the service inventory. Do you have any history as to how and why this happens?

I'm documenting the specifications for all the fasteners used on my 75 convertible so I can publish it for others to use. It's a slow process and not a high priority but I will complete the task after the restoration of my car is complete.

      Eric

There were a HUGE number of fastners used in PRODUCTION. However, for SERVICE I think that GMSPO greatly "narrowed this down" in order to reduce SERVICE inventory requirements. There are many cases in which a single fastner will work just fine as a replacement for a whole range of slightly different fastners used in PRODUCTION.
