aluminum intake & valve covers

I am currently completing some minor detailing on engine parts for my 65 350HP and would like suggestions on a good method of cleaning and restoring my original intake and valve covers. Since glass beading is definitly out of the question, any help would be appreciated. Thanks

I've had good luck on valvecovers with a thorough degreasing with solvent, followed bu an application of "Mag Wheel cleaner" the sprayon stuff. works very well and doesn't leave the rough appearance of glass beading
